Add/Reset Microsoft Authenticator

Adding Microsoft Authenticator to a new phone:

If this is an existing user, go to Entra and revoke and require re-register under Authentication methods first.

1. On your phone, install the Microsoft Authenticator app from your app store.

2. Open the app and add a Work or School account. You are going to want to scan a QR code.


3. On your computer, try to log in to Microsoft 365. It will tell you that you need more info. Continue until you see the QR code.

4. Back on your phone, in the Authenticator app, scan the QR code on the computer screen.

5. Follow any remaining instructions on the computer.

Resetting Authenticator for a user:

For Tech Support:

1. In Entera, under Authentication Methods, Revoke sessions and Require re-register.

For user:

2. Open The Authenticator app on our phone, select Florida Conference Office of Education, touch the gear at the top right of the screen, and delete the account. 


3. Then try to log in to Microsoft 365 again on your computer, and keep clicking on Next until you get to the QR code. 


4. Back on your phone in the Authenticator app, select add new account, work or school, and scan the QR code from the computer.
